Best No-Chip Nail Polish!

Hello everyone!

I am coming to you today with some great news, are you ready to hear it? You might want to sit down because I am about to tell you that I have found a nail polish formula that does not chip for close to a weeks worth of wear. Yes, a WEEK.

This magic nail polish is from Revlon. It is called the Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy range.

I found this at my local drugstore and decided to give it a try, it was around nine dollars, and I’ve fallen in love with it. The polish is easy to apply, it has a nice brush, it goes on smooth and fairly opaque. Once it has dried I use a good top coat and I can usually get up to a week’s worth of wear with little to no chips at all. And I can do this while working with my hands all day. If it can survive a cash register and phone system then it’s a winner in my books.

My only issue with the range is the colour selection. I tend to like more neutral and pastel colours, and this range only has a few of those. Most of the shades are fairly rich or they are very vibrant colours. If you are into that kind of thing, then it’s just extra good news for you.

The colours I have in my collection are the ones that I adore the most, and use frequently.

The shades in order from left to right

-100 Cardshark (bright pink/peach)

-020 All or Nothing (baby pink)

-510 Sure Thing (white)

-540 Checkmate (nude)

I hope you guys are able to try this range and find some shades that you fall in love with, because it really is worth the buy. If you try and colours please let me know in the comments! Or tell me which one of the ones that I have is your favourite!

Until next time,

FYI: I bought these products myself and all opinions are my own. xo

Emma’s Empties: Would I Re-purchase?

Hey friends,
It is Emma reporting for duty again. Today I collected the empty products I’ve used up and saved from the weekly garbage run to give you a mini-review of each product.

I love Empties reviews because you really get a good sense of a product once you’ve used up every last drop. I also like knowing what people are planning on buying again because I like knowing what I should and shouldn’t spend my money on.

Let’s start with the goodies. I bought the BareMinerals Bareskin foundation in a value pack at sephora because they always have amazing value packs. So the foundation was a mini size therefore I went through it relatively quickly because I used it every day! The pack retails for $44 which really isn’t bad because you get a normal brush, a mini size powder and the foundation. empties2

I am in the shade bare linen and it matches my skin perfectly. I would say it is a medium coverage but it feels very lightweight on the skin. It is actually a serum foundation and BareMinerals is all about skin health as a brand so I don’t worry about my dry/sensitive skin when I where this. I have indeed re-purchased the full size bottle and will probably continue to do so.

Onto the powder in the kit! That, unfortunately, I will not re-purchase. It is a pressed powder which I’m not quite used to and I think that’s why I went through it so fast but man I flew through this powder. I don’t even know if it did anything. The ring of pan in the middle just kept getting bigger and I was thinking is this even worth it? I don’t think the colour of the powder made much of a difference on my skin which was nice but the powder itself did nothing for me. Nothing. Notta. Not even sure what it does. Moving on. empties4

The next one, the POREfessional by Benefit (retails for $39 full tube, mini size is $13) I picked up in the sephora impulse line because the packaging is so cute and little and it’s the only time you ever see anything in sephora for under $20, you know? The hype got to me. So I tried it. Now, to be honest, at first I didn’t get it. Then I learned that to really use this you need to work it into the skin so it really gets into your pores to give your face a smoother finish. I did like the finish of my skin when I kind the hang of the product but then I started noticing bumps on my cheeks and little zits around where I put the primer. And I’m like, hello? I do not get acne on my cheeks anymore. What’s the deal? Well, as with any “pore-filling” product I think it’s pretty normal for it to um…clog your pores. Which I think is exactly what this did. So I put it down and said goodbye. Sadly, but goodbye.

I also went through a Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara (retails for $8.47). It comes in the green tube and Pink is usually the one in the commercials for it. To be honest, it’s been around for a long while but I wanted to try it because I’m not a fan of the chunky and clumped lash style that’s going around right now. I have naturally long eyelashes and I want to show them off. I want them to fan out like a butterfly and add as much length as possible. I do enjoy this mascara very very much and highly would recommend. I wear the waterproof formula because I always have my mascara flake underneath my eyes and never have any problems getting it off or having it droop through the day. The only complaint I would have is that I wonder if my eyelashes are as dark as I’d like them to be when wearing this so if I were you I’d go for the very darkest shade that they have. And to answer your questions yes, I have re-purchased this product.

Last but not least I am going to introduce you to my new holy grail product. This is life changing. Meg and I used to always wander into The Body Shop in the mall and I would put this almond nail & cuticle oil sampler on my nails because it was just too darn good to walk by! And, naturally, Meg would give me crap for it so I just had to buy it. It’s only $12 and comes in a twist up pen to release the gel (no spill, yes please) and I lather this stuff on. After a few minutes I swear on my life your hangnails and cuticles just…dissapear. Gone. Your nails look amazing. My ONLY problem with this stuff is that you don’t really know when you’re running low and then all of a sudden you don’t have any and you’re like what am I going to do? Buy more. That’s what you’re going to do.

I hope you enjoyed this insight into my collection of products and might help you make some future decisions or tempt you to make some splurges. I highly recommend (most of) these products and really suggest you take a gander. Have a lovely day and thank you for listening to this long ramble. We appreciate you very much.

Signing off,

Emma. xoxo
